Bourbon Country

We tried to drive by the Grand Ole Opry this morning on our way out of Nashville, but that didn't happen - couldn't get close.  Loved this sign as we were driving around in  circles....  Why not 25??

Off to Bourbon Country!  We first stopped at the Willett Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky.  We had a tour of this small family-operated distillery and then of course, had a small tasting.  Now I understand a lot more about bourbon  - crucial information.

Of course we had to bring home some of the products.  Both from Willett and also from Four Roses Distillery, a much larger operation in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky.
We started a new Louise Penny audiobook today, so that kept us busy until we arrived in Charleston, West Virginia for the night.  We were surprised to see that the road to our river-side hotel was closed off to traffic  - because of a Friday night "Live on the Levee" concert!  We managed to find our way in, and immediately we both no longer felt tired, so we went out our front door to find pulled pork barbeque for dinner and dance to the band "Donna the Buffalo" - awesome!  Managed to bring out our cups with a little adult beverage too - and since they were selling beer at the concert it didn't seem to be a problem. A great way to spend a beautiful summer night.
